The priest says the words:
“Go forth, the Mass is ended.”
For most of my life, I heard that and thought: “Finally, I’m done.”
But now, I hear it differently.
It’s not a dismissal.
It’s a commission.
A call.
Go forth… into the world God has placed you in.
Not to retreat.
Not to stay in your comfort zone.
Not to be cloistered or hidden.
Go forth… to live the Gospel.
Everything we’ve talked about in Forge—the lion inside, clearing distractions, walking the Way, living in rhythm, participating fully in the Mass—has prepared us for this.
All the virtue we build.
All the awareness we cultivate.
All the small acts of holiness we practice.
They are not for us alone.
They are for others.
Because faith that doesn’t touch the world is incomplete.
Love that isn’t shared is incomplete.
Life that isn’t given away is incomplete.
You are called to bring this faith into your classrooms, your workplaces, your families, your friendships.
To speak truth when it’s hard.
To show kindness when no one is looking.
To stand up for what is right, even when it costs.
To encourage, to lift, to serve.
This is how the Mass leaves the church building and enters the world.
This is how your rhythm, your virtue, your presence of God—everything you’ve been practicing—becomes real, living, active.
Go forth not just for your own holiness…
but for the transformation of the world around you.
And remember this: you do not go alone.
God is with you.
The saints intercede for you.
The Body of Christ walks with you.
So go forth.
Not timidly.
Not silently.
But boldly.
Into the world.
Into your life.
Into your calling.
Take what you’ve learned. Take who you’ve become.
And make a difference.
Because the world needs the lion inside you…
fully awake.
fully alive.
fully for God.
